Home workout - How to get started

How much equipment do I need? Do I need much space? How much time? Where do I even find home workouts? All these are questions we get asked when people are going to try a home workout.

A lot of people ask how-how do they start working out from home. The answer? Just start!!!!

Now the simple answer is just to start, but we do understand that some people get a bit confused. Like how much space do they need, weights or bars? So in this article, we will be explaining how to get started with Home working out. Now for some of you, this article won’t be necessary. You will be able to get started and get stuck right into straight away, but for some people, it might be a bit confusing. Working out from home can be as complicated as a full home gym, but also as simple as a few press ups in your living room. So let’s get started, below I will explain some points to consider when working out from home.

The Big Rule?

The biggest rule of working out is enough space. Make sure that you have enough space, don’t you hate it when you are in the gym and they place the next bench to close, or when you are doing curls and the guy next to you is standing right up close. Nothing makes you lose focus more lack of space. This rule can be applied to home workouts. You don’t want to be doing press ups and your feet are hitting something (from personal experience this is annoying). Create an open and spacious workout space. It can be as simple as moving a chair or maybe even switching to another room. Just make sure you have enough room to move around and do all the movements you need.

Home Workout Equipment & Plan?

Next up is equipment. You want to make sure that you have all the equipment you need, You do not need a lot of equipment to workout from home, Well if you are looking into a full gym at home then you might need a bit more, but to do any of the workouts on the Sets & Reps application you only need a small amount of equipment, Saying that 80% of the workouts on the app can be done without any equipment at all. We would recommend getting 1-2 kettlebells, foam roller, a few resistance bands and maybe a yoga mate, oh, and a water bottle! Having all the equipment on hand and ready to grab means that you can do any workout at any time. You don’t have to run around the house finding your foam roller (again, from personal experience).

Next up is a plan, What workout are you going to do? Using our app will help massively as there Is no planing you can just open up the Sets & Reps application, and chose a workout. All the exercises, the number of Sets & the number of Reps that you have to do have been planned out for you already. No need to spend time looking around online for home workouts, or finding videos on youtube. Just fire up the app and get going. The last thing you want to be doing is getting ready to do a workout, sit down and have to spend ages looking for a workout. By the time you found one you either haven’t got the equipment you need or you have lost motivation. Using Sets & Reps you know you are getting high quality and trustworthy workouts.

Time for Home Workouts

People always ask about time, How much time do I need for a home workout. Well, you can do a short or a long workout, it all depends on how much time you have to spare. We understand that the majority of people don’t have all day to spend at the gym working out, they are busy people. So shorter workouts will suit them better.

Within the application you will find, full-length workouts, ranging from 15-30 minutes, but you will also find a range of 4-minute workouts, you will be surprised at what you can do in 4 minutes, these are great for people that can squeeze a full workout in that day. No equipment needed at all! If you have a bit more time to spare then we would highly recommend the “Workout of the Day” pack that we released with WardActive Fitness. Full of great, high energy and challenging workouts.
